Creditor Guide: Vodafone

Vodafone is one of the biggest telecommunications companies in Europe and Africa. They offer multiple services but are best known for supplying customers with smartphones, mobile services and broadband. They have more than 27 million customers using their service in Europe alone

Vodafone Social Tariffs

As the cost of living is increasing, it’s harder for people to keep up with their priority bills and to help support households, social tariffs are available for people who are eligible. Vodafone offers social tariffs to anyone claiming Job Seeker’s Allowance and Universal Credit, as well as those on Employment and Support Allowance, Reduced Earnings Allowance, Disability Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, or Pension Credit. Social tariffs are cheaper broadband and phone packages for people on a lower income.

Your Credit Rating

If you don’t pay your Vodafone bill you could damage your credit rating, making it harder to borrow money in future. You can avoid this by either paying your bill on time or letting them know as soon as possible and they will give you an alternative arrangement.

The Importance of Priority Bills

It’s important to keep on top of Vodafone payments if you don’t want to fall behind on your bill; you can contact Vodafone to discuss your bill and payment support here. However, in all cases, keeping on top of your priority bills should come first. Priority bills are classed as services that could make you homeless or take away your essential services if left unpaid.

Vodafone Debt

The first thing you should do if you are in debt to Vodafone or may be unable to make your next payment is contact them directly. You can do this via their chat function on their website or call 191 for free from your Vodafone mobile to discuss your situation with them.

If you have missed a payment and your bill is overdue, a late payment charge will be added to your next bill. If your bill is more than 30 days overdue, Vodafone will update your credit file to say that you’ve paid your bill late. They may also restrict your services until you’ve paid your bill and got back on track. It is important to do this as soon as possible to avoid late fees mounting up, or debt collection agencies being contacted.
